Dr. Lauren Mickey, M.D.
Dr. Lauren Mickey joined Children’s Medical Center in August 2020.
Dr. Lauren was born and raised in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She attended the University of North Carolina (Go Heels!) for undergrad as well as medical school, which she graduated from in 2017.
Dr. Lauren then moved to Denver, CO to complete her pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital Colorado. With a stroke of great fortune, she was paired with Children’s Medical Center as her continuity clinic, so even before officially joining the practice she had the opportunity to learn from the incredible CMC patients and physicians. During her time in residency, Dr. Lauren developed an interest in nutrition which led her to create and implement a nutrition elective for her fellow residents. The elective focused on increasing knowledge about nutrition as well as partnering with organizations within the greater Denver community that focus on food systems. Dr. Lauren is thrilled that the elective continues at Children’s Hospital Colorado for future residents to take.
Dr. Lauren and her husband quickly adapted to the mountains, lack of humidity, and abundance of good food in Colorado. She is excited to be settling down here and continuing her journey at CMC! Dr. Lauren’s clinical interests include nutrition and child safety. When she’s not working, Dr. Lauren loves spending time with her husband. Some of their favorite activities together include hiking, going out to eat, and traveling. In her free time she also enjoys Zumba, yoga, fantasy football, UNC sports, and reading.
