As you may be aware all of the local hospitals have lifted or are in the process of lifting mask mandates. CMC will plan to lift our masking requirements for all providers, staff, patients, families and visitors on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 regardless of vaccination status.
While this will be the first time since 2020 that providers, patients, and families will no longer be required to wear a mask there are some exceptions we ask your help with.
Exceptions:
· Patients who are exhibiting any respiratory symptoms (i.e., cough, shortness of breath, wheezing) entering the sick side of the clinic are asked to continue masking.
· Providers and staff that feel more comfortable masking will continue to wear masks as they are exposed to many germs all day long and we respect their need to protect themselves and their families.
While mask requirements will be lifted on March 15th, we know that we care for a vulnerable patient population, many of whom cannot be vaccinated. Therefore, we ask all providers, staff, and patients to continue to wear a mask if you are experiencing any cold or flu symptoms or have a family member at home who is sick – this will help to keep each other and our patients safe.
We hope that our staff, patients, families, and visitors see this as a welcome change as we anticipate the end of respiratory season.
