Unfortunately, CMC will not be getting access to COVID vaccines anytime soon as we do not have a freezer that can store the Pfizer vaccine which is the only manufacturer authorized for the majority of our population. Below is the most up to date information on getting a vaccine for your child at Children’s Hospital. We recommend getting the vaccine at your earliest convenience at any site giving Pfizer is being administered.
Community Members Ages 12 and Older Now Eligible to Receive COVID-19 Vaccine at Children’s Colorado
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration and Centers for Disease Control have announced final emergency use authorization of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 12 and older.
Children ages 12 and older who are interested in receiving the vaccine through one of Children’s Colorado’s vaccine clinics can sign up using the Children’s Colorado website.
This web-based system replaces the referral order from providers. Providers should direct patients and families who are interested in the vaccine to sign up on the web portal. Referral orders are no longer required for phase eligible Coloradans (those 12+) to receive their Pfizer vaccine at Children’s Colorado. Eligible patients will also receive an invitation to sign up to receive the vaccine using the Children’s Colorado website via MyChart (if they are active on the platform) or a text message. Please remember minors cannot come to the vaccine appointments alone. All individuals under the age of 18 receiving a vaccine during Phase 3 must have exactly one parent or legally authorized guardian present with them to sign a physical consent form during each vaccine dose.
