Several years ago, with support from the Community Child Health Foundation, Children’s Medical Center began offering case management and behavioral health services. Currently there are two Licensed Clinical Social Worker’s at CMC, Kristen Roy and Cadence Chiasson.
Typically, following an intake with parents, children and youth meet with the clinical social worker at CMC. A typical session is 45-60 minutes.
Kristen is a mom and has been working at CMC since early 2004. Kristen is able to provide individual and family therapy. She is available to help with a variety of issues including: mental health, parenting, anxiety, depression, ADHD, school and family problems.
Cadence is new to CMC and is thrilled to join the team as a Marriage and Family Therapist. She was born and raised in a Boston suburb where she later met and married her husband. Together they moved to Denver in 2014, seeking an outdoor lifestyle with as much time as possible in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Cadence attended Ithaca College in NY for her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Psychology and later the University of Massachusetts, Boston, for her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Cadence is licensed in Colorado and Massachusetts. She has worked with children, adolescents, couples, and families for the past 7 years. Cadence thoroughly enjoys helping individuals and families find new ways of relating to one another and finding greater satisfaction and calm in their lives.
Most insurance plans cover behavioral and mental health services. Our social workers are able to bill many of the large insurance companies for their services. They can also make referrals to therapists outside of CMC, if necessary.
